President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya has blasted four judges who ruled on Friday that his reelection victory was null and void and ordered a fresh election within 60 days.
"Kenya is the first country in the world where a few, just 4, decided to overturn the will of 15 million people who woke up early, queued for hours and voted peacefully," he said, adding that although he respects the decision of the court, he does not agree with it.
"Results for Governors were transmitted and accepted, results for Senators were transmitted and accepted, results for Members of National Assembly were transmitted and accepted, results for MCAs were transmitted and accepted. Yet Presidential results which were transmitted through the same mechanism were not accepted. We respect the decision of the court but we will revisit it at a later date. For now let us meet at the ballot," he added in a Facebook post that seemed to have been lifted from a speech.
